Cast out of Eden and separated from the boy she dared to love, Allie will follow the call of blood to save her creator, Kanin, from the psychotic vampire Sarren. But when the trail leads to Allie’s birthplace in New Covington, what Allie finds there will change the world forever — and possibly end human and vampire existence.
There’s a new plague on the rise, a strain of the Red Lung virus that wiped out most of humanity generations ago — deadly to humans and vampires alike. The only hope for a cure lies in the secrets Kanin carries, if Allie can get to him in time…
Allie thought that immortality was forever. But now, with eternity itself hanging in the balance, the lines between human and monster will blur even further, and Allie must choose between the mortal world and her immortality.

Review: 5 stars

When I received this book on NetGalley I could not wait to start it! And oh boy! Not one second of it disappointed, this story starts out with a BANG that had me looking like an excited little kid at Christmas. It was a roller coaster of emotions that was absolutely amazing!

At first I was like an excited little kid…

AND THE ENDING…

Shocked

To anyone that’s hesitant about starting Julie Kagawa’s second book in the Blood of Eden trilogy – put aside all your doubts, get to the store and BUY THIS BOOK. If you have not yet read the first book – read it now. Julie Kagawa has quickly become one of my favourite authors of all time! She has a way of writing that keeps you turning those pages all night long. This story is dark, dangerous, intense and adventurous. It will most certainly not disappoint! I loved every single character, the way she writes so that I can picture every moment in my head and most of all I love the storyline. I have often thought that there are way too many vampire young adult literature these days but I’m so glad I didn’t give up on them or I never would have picked up this gem!
